We highly recommend you watch 'Basic ground skills' to ensure that you have a good foundation with these exercises before you attempt to use them.
If these basic skills are new to you then we advise that you learn and practice with an older horse before attempting to work with a young/green horse. Starting a young horse for the first time is a skill and requires excellent timing, feel and balance.
This package is designed to show you how we start a horse, the pitfalls and problems that you may come across and to give a plan to help ensure success. Starting a young horse or any horse is dangerous and anyone using these videos does so at their own risk.
The best way to use this package is to watch all the video footage before you try to work with your own horse. This way you see the exercises done in a specific order and what you are trying to achieve.

The videos of Buck were taken over a number of weeks and edited down from many hours of work. Buck was a troubled horse due to previous issues and he has come a long way since his new owners began working with him.

Most horses do not have the severity of issues that Buck does and you may be able to move along a lot quicker than demonstrated in this package.
